A foresight session dedicated to developing a system for training IT specialists to meet future labor market needs was held in Ashgabat. The event, held April 27–28, was organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The main topic of the meeting was the convergence of the educational system and the practical needs of the IT sector. Participants discussed which competencies will be in demand in the coming years, how the training of young specialists should change, and how educational programs can be better aligned with the real-world challenges of business and the digital economy.

Particular attention was paid to the need for closer collaboration between educational institutions, government agencies, and industry representatives. This approach not only allows for the updating of educational content but also helps students develop practical skills necessary for future employment and professional growth.
Following the foresight session, a Roadmap for Improving IT Personnel Training in Turkmenistan was developed. This document will serve as the basis for further steps to develop educational programs, strengthen ties with employers, and create conditions for training a new generation of specialists.

The holding of such a session demonstrates that training IT professionals is viewed not only as an educational task but also as an important element in the development of the country's digital economy. Developing modern competencies, developing project-based thinking, and making training practical are becoming key to enhancing the competitiveness of young professionals.
Thus, the foresight session became a platform for aligning visions between education and the labor market, as well as identifying specific areas for further work on training IT personnel in Turkmenistan.
